GCS CEO & Co-founder visits Kyiv with Minister of Economic Affairs & Climate Change Robert Habeck

Accompanying the #German Government delegation to #Kyiv this week, Global Clearance Solutions (GCS) CEO and co-founder Philipp von Michaelis reiterated support for recovery and rebuilding Ukraine even as conflict continues. As Robert Habeck, German Vice Chancellor and Minister for Economic Affairs and Climate Action stated during the surprise visit, “The word recovery contains hope. Of course we must still think of post-war Ukraine even during the war.”

Meeting with Ukraine’s Deputy First Minister and Minister of Economy Yulia Svyrydenko, Habeck underlined the importance of demining as stage zero for Ukraine’s economic and national recovery. Pointing to German support for demining to date, GCS was honoured to present our activity to date. Our thanks to the German delegation for this high level opportunity.

Von Michaelis explained: “Ukraine depends on their economy working. Farmers have to be able to cultivate their fields. Thirty of our demining machines are already in use in Ukraine and fifty more are ordered and in production. Every month we deliver between three and four demining systems. We are building local capacity with our team of trained specialists on the ground and from our office in Kyiv.”
