State Emergency Service of Ukraine operators graduate from comprehensive training

The first State Emergency Service of Ukraine graduates have completed training and are now fully qualified to operate our remote-controlled demining machines with integrated specialised drone technology, clearing landmines and other Explosive Remnants of War (ERW) in Ukraine.

The training in the Kirovorhad region is funded by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC)’s humanitarian demining package announced last year at the Ukraine Mine Action Conference in Lausanne.

As well as three GCS high-performance mine clearance systems with comprehensive training, the wide-ranging Swiss partnership also includes transporters to ensure that the machines can be deployed where they are needed most. Furthermore, the support package extends to service and maintenance work for three years and a regular reporting scheme.

As the first trained graduates depart, the second trainees are already mid-way through their course, and soon to be contributing to a mine-free future for Ukraine.
