On behalf of the Forests of Ukraine national authority tasked with protecting and nurturing one of Ukraine’s largest natural resources, Global Clearance Solutions (GCS) undertook Provincial Explosive Awareness and Reporting (PEAR) training this week. In total, more than 300 employees of the State Enterprise Forests of Ukraine will undergo training.
This novel application of explosive threat mitigation knowledge was created in response to the new landscape of Explosive Ordnance Threat Mitigation in consultation with Government, Municipal, and Oblast personnel, First Responders, and other Emergency personnel not directly involved in Mine Action. Ashley Williams, GCS Deputy Head of Operations explains the significant impact of our PEAR training in Ukraine:
“To accommodate personnel in critical posts who cannot always be released from duty, the PEAR training was made very flexible with training programs ranging from 5 days full-time to a 2-day digital presentation. GCS wants to thank DEG Impulse, part of the develoPPP programme with funding from the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), for believing in and nurturing the development of PEAR training, which can now serve as a best practice model to roll out across all regions affected by explosive ordnance.”
