State Emergency Service of Ukraine equipped to operate our unmanned demining platforms

Our GCS Ukraine team are currently engaged in expert operator training for State Emergency Service of Ukraine deminers using our GCS-200 multifunctional platform. The programme took place in Kirovohrad region from 20 January to 7 March, equipping specialists with the skills to clear mines efficiently and safely.

As a result, the first eight SESU specialists successfully passed their assessments and are now fully prepared to operate the system in the field.

Thanks to the training, a crucial element of the Swiss humanitarian package announced at the Ukraine Mine Action Conference last October in Lausanne, participants mastered remote operation, machine capabilities and manoeuvrability, as well as field repair techniques to maintain functionality in challenging conditions.

Three GCS-200 demining machines with specialised drone technology and transporters to ensure machines can be deployed where they are needed most have been provided by the Swiss confederation in this three-year package worth 4.6 million CHF. As well as comprehensive training measures, GCS will provide service and maintenance work across the project lifespan.
