NIBULON reveal the results of their demining strategy, with four GCS-200 machines at the core

With a combination of international investment and home-grown Ukrainian technology, NIBULON Ltd demonstrate an integrated strategy to ensuring grain production for Ukraine and export around the world, supporting international food security.

At the centre of the strategy is demining, always stage zero in recovery for agricultural production. And at the beginning of the recovery was the inspiration with Global Clearance Solutions (GCS) to establish a demining department.

According to Maxim Sovetkin, Head of NIBULON's demining department, mechanical demining represents not only improved speed, but also safety:

"One machine can process up to 10 thousand tons per shift. To understand the scale, a sapper can at best process 20 square meters per work shift. That is, such a machine allows you to return the land to cultivation as quickly and safely as possible."

On top of this, he explains, the biggest advantage of GCS' demining machines is the safety of personnel, because the operator controls it remotely. And while mines are the greatest threat to the sapper, the machine can detect them without damage.

There is further good news for all deminers in Ukraine, as Demine Ukraine announces that the vocation of deminer is an officially recognised profession.

The demining programme was made possible thanks to the support of DEG Impulse as part of the develoPPP programme with funding from the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).
