We are delighted to feature in both this and last week's Mine Action Weekly, the mine action sector's go-to source for the most important global updates.
This week, Mine Action Weekly highlights our presence at the Ukraine Mine Action Conference, where the Swiss Confederation confirmed their donation of three GCS-200 demining machines as part of a CHF 4.6 million package including training and service and maintenance support across the three years of the project. The first machine was on display outside the venue and is now on its way to Ukraine.
Mine Action Weekly brings together global media coverage of the event in Lausanne. As noted in the Odessa Journal, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy of Ukraine Yulia Svyrydenko confirmed in her remarks opening the conference that a total of 98 mechanical mine clearance machines and over 4,300 sappers are now operational in Ukraine.
Nearly 60 of these demining machines have been produced by GCS, representing approximately three-fifths of the fleet. As the first demining company to acheive commercial accreditation in Ukraine, GCS has pioneered the expansion of the demining industry in Ukraine since establishing our presence there in mid-2022.
