GCS conducts pro bono clearance and Risk Awareness activities in Bucha

Last week Global Clearance Solutions (GCS)’ Operations team conducted a Non-Technical Survey (NTS) for Bucha municipality using new drone solutions as well as tried-and-tested demining sensor technology. Lourie Venter, GCS Operations Technical Advisor in Ukraine explains: “In parallel with pro bono clearance activities in this area using our own technology and demining capacity, GCS Operational teams will donate Provincial Explosive Assessment and Recognition (PEAR) training in order to ensure this site is free from any Explosive Ordnance (EO). Once cleared, there are plans for the site to host amenities for local communities.”

Tragically, given the level of EO in Bucha and other previously occupied oblasts, injuries occur and will continue to occur as people start to rebuild their lives in Ukraine.

GCS provides active and sustainable support in the reconstruction process and as we offer this project to make a start with recovery right now, GCS salutes the resilience of the local population.
