7th German-Ukraine Economic Forum concludes with record bilateral trade

The 7th German-Ukrainian Economic Forum concludes in Berlin with a firm commitment to redouble reconstruction with investment and economic cooperation between the two nations. Opening the conference yesterday under the motto ‘Stronger together. Securing the future’, Federal Chancellor Olaf Scholz and Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Schmyhal spoke to over 500 business leaders and dignitaries, including Vice-Chancellor and Federal Minister of Economics Robert Habeck and Federal Development Minister Svenja Schulze, who also joined panel discussions and meetings with Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister Olexiy Chernyshov, presidential advisor Oleksandr Kamyshin and Energy Minister German Galushchenko.

GCS can attest to the incredible resilience of Ukrainians in the more than 1,000 days of war – since mid-2022, when we took the decision to invest in Ukraine, at a time when many businesses were withdrawing resources, we have opened a Ukraine office, headed by General Manager Dmytro Salimonov, built signficant local capacity including deminers, medics and trainers, and opened our own dedicated Service and Maintenance workshop near Kyiv.

With its well-educated population and dynamic energy of a country galvanised by a common goal, Ukraine daily rises to the challenges posed by the ongoing war. Our valued partner, the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action, offers support, for example with information services such as the Ukraine Business Guide from Germany Trade & Invest.

Our thanks to the organisers and other event sponsors, as well as our partners UXS Alliance, ARX Robotics and Quantum Systems who were also present this week and for joining us for the panel discussion on innovation, security and stability where GCS CEO and co-founder Philipp von Michaelis spoke about our inward investment in Ukraine’s economy and people.
