Global Clearance Solutions AG (GCS) announced today that it has acquired 75% of Symlab GmbH.
This purchase marks a strategic commitment by GCS to augment the existing comprehensive product portfolio in explosive threat mitigation with the addition of another technological capability. Symlab’s cutting-edge jamming technology helps safeguard civilians, peacekeepers, politicians and VIPs. Having cooperated in several markets over the last few years, the two companies are aligned in their mission to save lives.
GCS CEO and co-founder Philipp von Michaelis underlines the benefits for customers as well as the increased Swiss market footprint this investment brings: "Jamming is an important element of explosive threat mitigation, so deepening our long-term relationship with Symlab will enable clients to benefit from solutions which integrate jamming into the GCS product portfolio.”
Symlab founder and CEO Georg Stirnimann agrees: “We are excited to be joining the GCS family. It is a win-win situation for all of us, especially our clients. We offer complementary competencies and a customer-driven approach which will facilitate working together in the future.”
This transaction, which is not expected to be subject to regulatory control, creates an attractive and stable platform for future growth for clients, employees and business partners. Working with GCS enables Symlab to tap into new markets and clients, whilst also jointly developing market-leading solutions to fulfill future client needs.
