Leaders from across the political and corporate community in Ukraine and Germany met in Berlin yesterday to affirm support from Germany, currently Ukraine’s second largest financial supporter. Following an online address from President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy, contributions from German Chancellor Olaf Scholz as well as Vice-Chancellor and Minister for Economic Affairs and Climate Action Robert Habeck, Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy Julija Swyrydenko focused on Ukraine’s potential for recovery and investment.
As a conference partner as well as a direct contributor to recovery in Ukraine, GCS understands the challenges as well as the opportunities for partnership with Ukraine businesses. Our activity, creating safe environments by clearing explosive threats, ensures Ukrainian businesses such as Nibulon can continue to feed their own citizens and export critical grain supplies overseas.
The message of the conference, to build back better and instill confidence with the help of Ukraine’s highly educated and motivated workforce, will continue to resonate looking ahead to next year’s Ukraine Recovery Conference in 2024, which will also take place in Berlin. For now, recovery and restoring economic productivity cannot wait and GCS is at the forefront of ensuring safe and sustainable infrastructure for investment.
