Operated by experts from the Ukraine National Police (NPU), our remote-controlled demining platform safely and sustainably eliminates explosive remnants of war (ERW) where, according to the NPU, their experts found grenade launchers, artillery ammunition of various calibres and high-explosive cluster munitions.

Featured in this week’s Mine Action Weekly from Markus Schindler, the full video shows explosive ordnance disposal (EOD) experts from different regions of Ukraine thoroughly examining every metre of land and neutralising explosive threats including in local residents’ homes in Borova after shelling. In order to minimise the destructive effects on buildings, munitions are remotely discharged as far away from households as possible.

Explosive ordnance disposal specialists from Dnipro can also be seen clearing the area near the water pumping station in Izyum district where PFM-1S ‘petal’ anti-personnel mines were found. The demining allowed for the restoration of essential services, such as water supply, as well as ensuring the safety of local residents.
