Global Clearance Solutions (GCS) were proud to attend the handover ceremony for our state-of-the-art mechanical demining platform to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine last week. Bridget Brink, U.S. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plentipotentiary to Ukraine presented Minister of Internal Affairs for Ukraine Ihor Klymenko and Ivan Vyhivskyi, Head of the National Police of Ukraine with our remote-controlled GCS-200 with our mine clearance attachments.
At the ceremony Volodymyr Khomenko, Head of the Office of Explosive Services of the National Police of Ukraine, said: "Mechanized demining vehicles allow us to protect personnel from explosions and significantly speed up the process of clearing territories,"
Klymenko added: "This aid…affects our resilience and will affect our resilience after the end of the war. We save people, demine territories and continue to restore our state. I would like to thank our international partners who are with us and ready to support us in these difficult but heroic times for Ukraine. Both this heroism and these times are the same for everyone."
Ihor Klymenko noted that currently the units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs have 50 demining vehicles, but explosives units need 100-110 units for effective work. He explained that this is primarily necessary for demining agricultural land.
