We are delighted to feature in today’s Höfner Volksblatt, from an area with which GCS has strong ties. The article (in German) expounds the full service, solution-oriented nature of GCS, from our headquarters in Freienbach and our production facility in Stockach close to Lake Constance.
Quoted in the article, Till Oehler, Head of Corporate Office and Public Affairs, explains that the three GCS-200 demining platforms recently donated by Switzerland to Ukraine are by no means the first: currently almost 60 GCS demining platforms are deployed in Ukraine. By the end of 2025 this number will increase to 100, thanks to international support, with partners including the UN, humanitarian organisations and national and international authorities including the Swiss and German armies in their humanitarian demining activities. Across the world GCS machines see action in Iraq, Libya and Colombia, among other locations.
GCS CEO and co-founder Philipp von Michaelis underlines the goal for everyone at GCS, whether that be local employees in Ukraine, or across the global organisation: “While many foreign companies withdrew investment, GCS decided as early as mid-2022 to establish a presence in Ukraine and now employs more than 30 local employees there. We want to support the Ukrainian population so that they can safely use land contaminated with mines as quickly as possible.”
