NikVesti illustrate their article this month on the extent of demining in Ukraine with our GCS-200 demining platform operating in Mykolaiv oblast. Part of a broad package of humanitarian demining and educational support with our partner NIBULON, this machine was donated DEG Impulse as part of the develoPPP programme with funding from the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BWZ).

Journalist Anna Hakman reports that 44,000 hectares in the Mykolaiv region are subject to priority demining. The Ministry of Economy of Ukraine has designated Mykolaiv as a demining priority due to its fertile lands and economic significance.

GCS is proud to be part of the reponse to unprecented explosive contamination levels. We salute our deminers as well as all of those who have surveyed and demined almost a third of Mykolaiv's contaminated land — 211,000 hectares according to the first deputy head of the Mykolaiv RMA, Heorhii Reshetilov.
