Mechanical demining continues to play a critical role in addressing large-scale explosive contamination in Ukraine, particularly where speed, safety and consistency are required to restore access to land and infrastructure.

Global Clearance Solutions (GCS) is supporting these efforts through the deployment of its GCS-200 remotecontrolled mechanical demining platform, now in operational use by the State Emergency Service of Ukraine (SESU).

Mechanical clearance in national service

The GCS-200 is being used by SESU as part of ongoing clearance operations aimed at reducing explosive risk in contaminated areas. The platform enables ground processing and clearance tasks to be carried out remotely, reducing direct exposure of operators to landmines and other explosive remnants of war while supporting higher productivity under demanding conditions.

Deployment of the system reflects the close cooperation between international donors, Ukrainian authorities and operational partners, combining equipment delivery with training, technical support and integration into national clearance workflows.

Technology integrated with training and support

The use of the GCS-200 in Ukraine forms part of GCS's broader approach to explosivethreat mitigation, which combines mechanical platforms, operator training, service and maintenance support. This ensures that systems are not only delivered, but can be deployed safely, sustained in the field and adapted to operational requirements.

GCS specialists continue to support Ukrainian operators through training and technical assistance, ensuring that mechanical clearance capability remains available and effective over time.

The accompanying footage illustrates the platform in operational use by SESU, providing insight into how mechanical clearance capability is applied within national mine action efforts in Ukraine.
