From factory to field: integrating technology, training and support in clearance operations

Effective explosivehazard clearance depends on more than the availability of equipment. Reliable outcomes require that systems are delivered, deployed, supported and sustained as part of a coherent operational framework.

Effective explosivehazard clearance depends on more than the availability of equipment. Reliable outcomes require that systems are delivered, deployed, supported and sustained as part of a coherent operational framework.

Across multiple operating environments, Global Clearance Solutions (GCS) supports this requirement by combining remotecontrolled demining platforms, trained local operators and ongoing operational and service support.

Platforms matched to operational context

GCS deploys different mechanical systems depending on terrain and task profile. The GCS-200 is used primarily for clearance of contaminated agricultural land and open areas affected by landmines and explosive remnants of war, where productivity and standoff operation are critical. The GCS-100, by contrast, is applied in more confined or urban environments, supporting clearance in areas damaged by conflict and debris.

Both platforms are operated by local clearance teams who are trained and supported by GCS specialists, ensuring that systems are used in line with procedures and adapted to local conditions.

Support beyond delivery

GCS's approach extends beyond equipment delivery. Operational support, training and service and maintenance are integrated into deployment planning to ensure that systems remain available and effective once in use.

This includes operator training, technical guidance and maintenance support to address wear, field repairs and sustainment needs. The objective is to minimise downtime and ensure that clearance operations can continue safely under demanding conditions.

Continuity across the lifecycle

By linking production, deployment and field support, GCS provides continuity across the full operational lifecycle of its clearance systems. This model supports customers from initial delivery through to sustained use in the field, reducing risk and increasing confidence in long-term clearance programmes.

In contexts such as Ukraine, where clearance requirements are large-scale and ongoing, this integration of technology, training and support is essential to confirming which areas can be declared safe and returned to civilian use.
