During a recent field demonstration, GCS showcased how its Modular Mine Plough goes beyond traditional mine breaching capabilities by combining two critical Combat Engineering functions in a single attachment.
"Designed to create safe lanes through minefields, the Modular Mine Plough can also be used for obstacle reduction tasks, such as filling trenches and anti-tank ditches. This enables operators to continue the breach operation without changing attachments or requiring an additional vehicle equipped with a dozer blade", Marko Patljak, Product Manager at GCS shares.
By combining mine breaching and obstacle reduction capabilities in a single attachment, the GCS Modular Mine Plough helps streamline this process and maintain operational momentum. In addition, the equipment footprint in the field can be reduced, while fewer assets are required to complete the mission. The attachment reduces complexity while maintaining the ability to advance through challenging terrain.
As battlefield mobility remains a critical requirement, solutions that combine competences and reduce logistical burden can help armed forces execute breach operations more efficiently and with greater flexibility.
