Global Clearance Solutions AG (GCS) has delivered two GCS-200 remote-controlled mechanical demining platforms to the State Special Transport Service of Ukraine, together with associated training and equipment for Ukrainian deminers.

The delivery forms part of the European Union's EUR 25 million support package for humanitarian demining, announced at the EUUkraine Summit in February 2023. The handover was presented by Rémi Duflot, Chargé d'Affaires a.i. of the EU Delegation to Ukraine, and is intended to address urgent operational requirements of Ukraine's state mine action operators.
Following an established tradition, the two newly delivered platforms have been named Vira (Faith) and Liubov (Love). An earlier GCS-200 platform delivered in 2024 was named Nadiia (Hope).
During a meeting with Brigadier General Oleksandr Yakovets, Head of the State Special Transport Service of Ukraine, Rémi Duflot underlined the European Union's continued support for mine action efforts in Ukraine and the role of specialised equipment in mitigating the risks posed by mine contamination.
Since 2022, GCS has been one of the first companies to support mine action activities in Ukraine through the delivery of mechanical demining systems, training and technical support. Mechanical demining enables safer access to land and infrastructure and supports the resumption of civilian and economic activities, including agriculture, transport and trade.
