Global Clearance Solutions AG (GCS) is supporting operator training for the State Emergency Service of Ukraine (SESU) as part of a SwissUkrainian humanitarian demining programme focused on strengthening mechanical clearance capacity.
The training forms part of a comprehensive humanitarian support package provided by the Swiss Confederation, which includes the delivery of three GCS-200 mechanical demining platforms with attachments, as well as operator training and service and maintenance support over a threeyear period.
SESU personnel are receiving handson instruction on the operation of remotecontrolled mechanical demining platforms, including the use of integrated drone and camera systems that support reconnaissance and situational awareness during clearance operations. The training programme also includes medical training for deminers and onsite maintenance instruction, supporting safe and sustained system use.
SESU currently operates 15 GCS mechanical demining platforms in Ukraine. In total, approximately 70 GCS systems are deployed across the country to address contamination from landmines and other explosive remnants of war, with a further 30 systems planned for deployment in 2025.
The operator training reflects GCS's approach to humanitarian mine action in Ukraine, combining mechanical systems, training and longterm technical support to enable national authorities to scale clearance operations safely and effectively.
Through its cooperation with SESU and international partners, GCS continues to support the development of local capacity and the sustained deployment of mechanical demining capabilities as part of Ukraine's broader recovery efforts.
