Global Clearance Solutions AG (GCS) and its local subsidiary Global Clearance Solutions Ukraine LLC have signed a memorandum of understanding with Ruslan Kravchenko, Head of the Kyiv Regional State Administration, to strengthen cooperation on demining and explosive threat mitigation activities in the region.

The memorandum formalises collaboration aimed at supporting safer environments in areas affected by landmines and explosive remnants of war. It reflects GCS's continued commitment to Ukraine since establishing a local presence in 2022, with a focus on operational delivery and local capacity building.

Through its operations in Ukraine, GCS has invested in local infrastructure, personnel and partnerships, working closely with Ukrainian authorities and newly established coordination structures, including Demine Ukraine. These efforts are intended to support effective cooperation between international operators and national and regional institutions.

Dmytro Salimonov, General Manager GCS Ukraine, welcomed the agreement:

"This memorandum strengthens our cooperation with the Kyiv regional authority and supports closer engagement with local communities. From our operations and service and maintenance workshop near Kyiv, we involve Ukrainian specialists and deminers directly in addressing the challenge of explosive contamination."

As the first commercially accredited demining company in Ukraine, GCS has focused on building local partnerships and operational capability. More than 50 GCS mechanical demining machines are currently deployed in the country. In parallel, GCS has delivered riskmanagement and awareness training to more than 1,000 municipal leaders and community stakeholders, supporting informed decisionmaking related to unexploded ordnance (UXO) and other explosive remnants of war at local level.
